To strengthen the existing management team and to ensure the achievement of the company objectives, the Martabe Gold Mine is looking for candidate to fill the role:
The role of the Mechanical Leading Hand is to provide ‘hands-on’ support for the Mechanical Supervisor, so as to ensure that the maintenance, modifications, servicing and installation activities carried out by the Mechanical maintenance team are performed in a professional, safe, diligent, timely, cost efficient and cost effective manner, whilst taking into consideration the priority requirements of the Process Plant and associated infrastructure’s mechanical plant, equipment & apparatus being attended to.
Close interaction with your peers: Workshop, Material Handling, Electrical & instrumentation, Process and Metallurgical Personnel as well as Maintenance Planning and Supply & Logistics will be crucial to the overall success of your role.
Candidates for this role would be expected to have the following qualifications :
1. Graduated from Polytechnic / Technical training institute or approved Apprenticeship with Mechanical (Fitter / Welder / Boilermaker) qualifications.
2. Senior First-Aid qualifications
3. Possess a valid recognised Driver’s licence.
4. Experience in similar supervisory positions within the mining, oil & gas or similar heavy industrial environment.
5. Hands on knowledge of Pronto or similar CMMS software
6. Prior work experience working with expatriates
7. A good understanding of world class mining standards and associated safety standards (ANZS, BS, IEC & ASTM)
8. Experience with mechanical maintenance, problem-solving and inspection processes.
9. Thorough knowledge of occupational hazards within the mineral processing industry.
10. Ability to understand and efficiently carry out written and oral instructions.
11. Computer literacy with Microsoft Excel, Word, Power Point, Outlook and Internet & A good understanding of ‘Computer Maintenance Management Systems’ (CMMS)
12. Interpretation of engineering / mechanical drawings.
13. Ability to demonstrate ‘Safe Working Procedures’ to subordinates.
14. Ability to estimate the amounts of labour, materials, and equipment required for tasks / projects.
15. Ability to prepare reports and maintain accurate records.
16. Reasonable English language verbal & written communication skills.
