Lead Piping Engineer
Responsibilities and Accountabilities
1. Organise and manage all aspects of the workload of a team of piping discipline engineers and designers, within the parameters of a project schedule.
2. Establish a list of discipline deliverables. Control, monitor and progress these deliverables to an agreed schedule.
3. Organise and manage the resource requirements for the piping discipline.
4. To ensure offshore engineering practices applicable to piping design and topside/plant layout are adopted.
5. Exercise guidance to staff in the preparation of piping materials and valve specifications and subsequently ensure purchase to required standards.
6. Apply good interpersonal skills, liaising across the organisation with members of other disciplines and departments.
7. Create an awareness and willingness to work in “breakthrough” and partnering environment.
8. Appraisal, training and development of personnel.
9. Quality Assurance – Responsible for working within the provisions and guidelines of the Quality Assurance systems.
10. Safety – Responsible for personal safety and working within the OHS&W procedures.
Requirements
1. The incumbent shall fluent in Indonesian & English Language (oral & written),
2. Hold a bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering with minimum eight (8) years experience in Piping design engineering.
3. The last 3 years must have been in a supervisory role.
4. FEED & Detailed Engineering experiences in oil and gas projects.
5. Have a comprehensive knowledge of:
a. Piping design, fabrication and erection including welding procedures, non-destructive and hydrostatic testing procedures.
b. Engineering softwares for stress analysis, and 3D Modelling such as PDMS.
c. Vessel design, specification and fabrication procedures.
d. Current vendor equipment and specifications for piping systems (e.g. valves, strainers, flanges etc).
e. Plant and equipment installation, commissioning and maintenance procedures.
f. Wide knowledge in Plot Plan and equipment layout, piping layout and utility piping layouts.
g. Relevant International Standards and Codes of Practice normally used in Piping engineering in the Oil and Gas industry such as API, ANSI, ASME, etc.
6. In addition, the incumbent shall have a sound appreciation of:
a. Environmental aspects of oil and gas design.
b. Oil and gas process design.
c. Pumps and rotating machinery design and selection
d. Material selection for different process and environmental conditions.
e. Safety aspects of design e.g. HAZOP, HAZAN, HAZID and risk analysis techniques.
f. Quality assurance and control requirements of the design process.
